Budget 7 March 2001
This Report covers the principal business and taxation changes announced in the 2001 Budget, and was written immediately after the Chancellor of the Exchequer delivered his Budget Speech.
Please take care to note the dates on which changes will take effect. It is no longer the case that legislation announced in the Budget will take effect from the start of the new tax or financial year.
Our 2001/02 Tax Calendar details some of the key dates and deadlines for the forthcoming year.
We have included a number of tax planning tips and pointers throughout this guide, but financial planning should not be restricted to the short time before and after the Budget Speech each year. Keep your plans under review, and discuss them with us at regular intervals. We can help you to ensure that your plans not only reflect changes in your business and in your personal life, but also take account of the latest changes in legislation.
