Richard is a Chartered Accountant who trained with Deloitte Haskins & Sells, London. He qualified in 1982 and, after gaining experience on large public company audits, he joined their insolvency department which has given him further insight into business organization. In 1984 he joined a top 20 national accountancy firm, initially having responsibility for a general practice portfolio and then becoming a group manager in the London office responsible for 25 audit staff. Clients included large commodity trading houses and professional partnerships. Richard also undertook forensic accounting in Department of Trade and Industry and Tax Investigation Group enquiries.
